    INDIANAPOLIS - Warsaw's Charles Hodges took first in the Hoosier State Games at Spring Mill State Park.

Hodges won the 8K run in the men's age 65-69 division. His time was 40:43.1.

    Paul Grossnickle of Warsaw scored a hole-in-one while playing at the Gull Lakeview Golf Club in Michigan.

The 58-year-old golfer got the first ace of his playing career on a par-3, 130-yard hole, using a No. 9-iron.

    Among the "Queen of Lakes" contestants late this month at the North Webster Mermaid Festival will be Patricia Gagnon, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Gagnon, Silver Lake. Gagnon weighs 122 pounds, stands 5 feet, 3 inches tall, has blue eyes and light brown hair.
