Warsaw Patrolman Alvin Dials and his German shepherd, Hero, will be honored at a graduation ceremony in the Kidder Building, Fort Wayne.
They are part of a class that has completed an intense 13-week training course that includes utility work (obedience, control, aggression, building and evidence searches) and narcotics detection.

Debra Lee Carver, a senior at Whitko High School, was awarded the Lakeland Art Association scholarship recently during the association's spring show in the "101 Center," west of Warsaw.
Her winning entries were beautiful examples of her multi talents. An ink drawing of old buildings revealed the past, also a watercolor of three birds and a pencil drawing of three small girls were entered, representing aspects of her life.

Mayor Jack Engle has appointed two men to positions on the Warsaw police and fire departments.
Eugene R. Sumpter, 28, Warsaw, has been named to the Warsaw Fire Department as an additional driver. Frank McGuire, 30, of Warsaw, has been named to the police force. At present he is city park patrolman.

Six beautiful tulip trees are in bloom at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. John Rusher on Ind. 15, just north of Leesburg. Although the tree of the Hoosier state is considered somewhat of a rarity, there are a number of them in Warsaw and Kosciusko County. the owners value them quite highly.
