    The Warsaw Community High School art department recently announced the 1997 Tri Kappa Art Award winners.

Best of show went to Winnie Hake with her drawing of her brother. Runner-up best of show was Josh Ogden's sculpture in clay. The Art Club Purchase Award goes to Kyle Bruner for his still life drawing.

    Winning Warsaw Community High School baseball awards were Doug O'Brien, most offensive points; Dan Wendt, most valuable; and Rick Reneker, most improved.

    California and Florida newspapers have made a clean-sweep of the first three places in the National Editorial Association's 1957 "Better Newspaper" contest.

The Warsaw Times-Union was the only mid-western daily newspaper to reach the top-flight division in General Excellence, receiving "Honorable Mention" immediately behind the front-running coastal newspapers.

June 13 1932

    Five young people from Kosciusko County are among the class of 736 which will receive degrees at the 58th annual commencement exercises at Purdue University.

This county is represented as follows: Pierceton, Cloyce D. Clover and Howard L. Hassler, bachelor of science in agriculture; Milford, Carl E. McKibben, bachelor of science in agriculture; Mentone, Harvey L. Hire, bachelor of science in chemical engineering; and Silver Lake, Howard L. Sittler, bachelor of science in chemical engineering.
