Anna Klatt, a fifth-grader at Madison Elementary, Warsaw, recently won a $500 savings bond from the Indiana Troopers Association Inc. for writing the winning essay in a statewide contest. Her winning essay was "Why I Choose To Live a Drug-Free Life".
The Warsaw Business and Professional Women's Club May breakfast and installation of the 1984-85 officers was at the International Friendship House at Winona Lake. Scott Dausman, 2, and Vickie Gilbert, 3, were crowned "Young Master Waterland" and "Young Miss Waterland," respectively, at the Mid-Lakes baby beauty contest at North Webster. Scott is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Dausman, Leesburg. Vickie's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Gilbert, Syracuse.
According to J. W. Scott, manager of the United Telephone Co., the storm damage to lines in Warsaw recently will total $500. The worst section was on Prairie Street and Lake Street where the cyclone dipped down and tore down 10 poles.
