10 Years Ago Grace Village Retirement Community recently honored their volunteers with an open house. Carol Schuler received the Community Volunteer of the Year Award from Wanda Bollman, director of programs and services. Bollman also presented the Resident Volunteer of the Year Award to Emmett Anderson, a resident of Grace Village. The special open house was held to thank the many volunteers who spend more than 1,000 hours a month helping residents in a variety of ways.
25 Years Ago Gov. Robert Orr will be the keynote speaker at the sixth annual graduation of the Kosciusko Leadership Academy. The 23 members of the KLA will finish their year with a dinner and graduation on May 7. They will present their “White Papers” in a morning session titled Project Proud.
50 Years Ago Miss Lynn Maish, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Maish, Warsaw, is vacationing in the Smoky Mountains. She made the trip with her roommate, Miss Eleanor Rapp. Both are graduate nurses employed at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gillard, Winona Lake, have returned from a three-week vacation at Winter Park, St. Petersburg and Cocoa Beach, Fla.
