Community Days will be Friday and Saturday at all Elder-Beerman stores to benefit schools, churches and non-profit organizations. Many area organizations are  participating in the event at the Warsaw Elder-Beerman store by selling tickets to the event for $5 each, which include savings certificates.

Property along Detroit Street has been purchased by Marsh Supermarkets Inc. in anticipation of purchasing the old Freshman High site. On Jan. 19, spokesman Lennie Hayes told the Warsaw Redevelopment Commission that Marsh held the option to buy four properties near the Freshman High site. He said the plans would no longer contain a parking garage as originally proposed, and the street would not have to be altered. If the Marsh proposal becomes a reality, the Market Street store would be closed. He said Marsh would follow the school's bid specifications.

The Warsaw High School choir, directed by Miss Margaret Ann Voirol, will present a program of sacred and secular numbers at the Warsaw Rotary Club luncheon meeting this Friday noon at the Civic Center.
Rochester School officials announced today that 405 students were registered for the school's summer education program. Plans are for 24 classes to be held in 11 subjects.

Betty Showalter and Betty Morris, of Akron; Katherine Eiler, Mary Rush, Mary Mollenhour, and Annabelle Long, all of Mentone, presided as hostesses at the third annual Mentone Egg Show Tuesday and Wednesday in the Mentone Community Building. The ladies wore their Mae West boas, picture hats and carried Japanese umbrellas. A cord was pulled and a large "WELCOME" emblem was displayed.
