Amy Petersen is the valedictorian for the class of 1997 at Triton High School, and Patrician Yarian is the salutatorian.
There were 11 men from Kosciusko County who recently received the 32nd Degree at the spring convocation of the Scottish Rite. Those receiving the degree were Steven M. Reed, J.D. Geiger, Joe Tucker, Jim Romine, Jim Gooch, Edward Hoffman, Robert Brooks, Donald Wolferman, Carl E. Williams, Daryl Marshall and Rex Kreger.
At a recent recognition ceremony held at the Scout cabin on Center Lake, five Pierceton Girl Scouts were presented one of the highest awards in scouting - the Crossed Bar Award. They are Janice Cutler, Gloria Wine, Susan Beebe, Diane Gates and Linda Burnworth. Mrs. M.M. Coble is leader of the senior troop.
The annual commencement exercises closed one of the biggest years in the history of Manchester College. One hundred twenty-five completed the two-year course and received diplomas.
