FORT WAYNE - Denny England of Warsaw won the Pennzoil Outlaw Winged Spring Series 30-lap feature at Baer Field Speedway in Fort Wayne. Warsaw's Scott Hull finished fourth in the feature. England also turned in the night's fastest lap time of 15.26 seconds.
Eight charter members of the Senior ONO Club of Etna Green were honored at the recent 35th anniversary celebration of the organization. They are Lois Stouder, Zulema Houghton, Betty Stouder, Lucile Stouder, Betty Davis, Betty Sparks, Jo Hannah Gard and Thelma Thomas.
Warsaw barber Russell Knoop was seen with what might be a record-size mushroom for this area. The edible fungi measured 11 inches from tip to tip and was 8 inches in diameter. He also found many others. Russ didn't disclose where he found them, but who can blame him!
Ike Hire, manager of the local A. and P. store here, won a new imported Mallory hat as first prize for having the highest increase in volume of sales in this district. There were some 60 odd A. and P. stores in this district competing for the prize.
