Potpourri - Middle District County Commissioner Fredrick Gilliam was being teased this week by fellow commissioners and county officials. What happened, you ask? Seems Freddy (or as some may call him, "Fast Freddy") fell asleep halfway through the keynote speech Sunday given by Sen. Richard G. Lugar (R-Ind.) during the dedication ceremony in the basement meeting room in the new Kosciusko County Justice Building. We should also mention the fact that Fred was sitting in the front row. The only response made by Fred ... "the room was hot."
This month's Times-Union calendar girl is attractive Nancy Waite, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Waite, Silver Lake. Nancy, a senior honor student at Silver Lake High School, plans to enter International Business College, Fort Wayne, this fall. She has lovely red hair and gray-green eyes.
