Seven area students are heading to Global Destination Imagination competition for the second year in a row.  Members of the team include Sarah Benczik, Trinity School at Greenlawn in South Bend; Todd Bolt, Warsaw Community High School junior; Kylie Edmonds, Triton High School senior; David Gabhart, THS sophomore; Ben Speicher, THS sophomore; Andrea Zentz, THS senior; and Tim Speicher, THS senior. The team calls themselves M. Seven. Global competition will be at the University  of Tennessee, Knoxville, with opening ceremonies May 21.

An apparent lack of interest is causing some concern for planners of the upcoming Bowen Center 10th anniversary, rededication ceremony and luncheon. The weekend event will be kicked-off on May 13 at noon when U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Otis R. Bowen, speaks during a luncheon at the International Friendship House.

Leesburg beat Silver Lake, 75-34, in high school track Friday. The Blazers recorded eight firsts, including both relays. Anderson cleared the bar at 10 feet, 10 inches to set a new school record in the pole vault and double wins were picked up by Brown in the high jump and high hurdles. DeMuth picked up a win in the 100 and 440 yard dashes. Silver Lake's Mike Jagger was the individual star with victories in the low hurdles, 220 yard dash, and shot put.
