    Four YMCA Wrestling Club members fared well in recent state-level competition.

Matthew Smith (bantam, 40 pounds) and Bradley Boocker (bantam, 60) were state champions in the freestyle competition. Rhys Canaday (midget, 55) was a Greco-Roman state champion and a Great Lakes freestyle champion. Zach Avallone (novice, 80) placed seventh in the state freestyle tournament.

May 22 1982

    It is not known if the deer was seeking education or was trying to become Warsaw Community High School's new mascot, but it picked the wrong day to do either. A yearling doe crashed through the plate glass door on the north side of the school Saturday morning and began running through the hallways.

A janitor, Sid E. Markley, called Warsaw police after the deer became trapped in the school's commons area, and Markley guided the deer out the south door, where it shattered another window.

    Philip Lowry Stone and Anita Lou Eddingfield will be valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of the Warsaw High School class of 1957.

Philip is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy A. Stone, and Anita is the daughter of Mr. A.L. Eddingfield.

    Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bolinger, recently married young couple, were belled by a large number of their friends on Tuesday evening. Mrs. Bolinger was the former Edith Anglin.
