    Students from Washington Elementary School, Warsaw, recently won a gold medal, two silver medals and a bronze medal in the National Mathematics Pentathlon Tournament in the Michiana Center at Elkhart Central High School. They are Ashley Harrison (gold medal), Alicia Swank and Kevin Messmore (silver medals) and Amanda Lambert (bronze medal).

    Michele Sebo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sebo, Warsaw, and Lora Luckenbill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Luckenbill, Warsaw, have been named valedictorian and salutatorian respectively from the 1983 graduating glass at Warsaw Community High School.

    Mermaid Festival headquarters have received the entry of 16-year-old Sue Lane Anglin, daughter of Wallace Anglin, Warsaw, to compete as "Miss Atwood" for the title of Indiana's Queen of Lakes" in North Webster the week of June 23-28.

May 21 1933

    The first Warsaw High School egg show, sponsored by the agriculture class, was held in connection with the school exhibit. There were 17 entries in the white egg class and seven entries in the brown egg class. Prizes were awarded as follows: Grand champion, Clarence Goshorn. White egg classification, first, Clarence Goshorn; second, Robert Robbins; third, Lawrence McCreight; fourth, Carl Cook; fifth, Russell Henderson; sixth, Lyman Shroyer; seventh, Bernard Funnell. Brown egg classification, first, David Lloyd; second, Melvin Shue; third, Howard Shepler; fourth, Donald Horrick; fifth, Roger Parker; sixth, Paul Ellis.
