    ANDERSON - Emily Matz, Syracuse, was recently initiated into the Anderson University chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta, a national academic honor society for freshmen.

Matz, a 1996 graduate of Wawasee High School, is the daughter of David and Phyllis Matz, Syracuse.

May 18 1982

    A Warsaw Community High School senior, Rob Fuson, has won two first place awards in the 1982 Scholastic Writing Awards. This is the first time a single student has achieved such an honor. His short story, "The Beast Of The Gevaudan," was selected for a $300 college tuition scholarship, and his poem, "Ominous Oracles," was selected for a $200 tuition scholarship. He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Fuson, Warsaw.

    Dennis Sharp has been named valedictorian, and Raymond Zimmerman salutatorian of the Milford High School graduating class of 1957. Dennis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Burris Sharp, and Raymond the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Zimmerman.

    In a water battle stated on North Buffalo Street, a team composed of Bud Moon, "Pank" McConnell and Robert Armey claimed the victory over a team composed of Paul Edwin Hodges, Link Hay and R. Schue. The Warsaw firemen are having practice battles in preparation for the Columbia City convention.
