Jewel Wise, daughter of Doug and Tammy Wise, has been chosen by the Menzie Reece American Legion Auxiliary Unit 258 to attend the 58th annual session of Hoosier Girls State in June.
Wawasee High School senior Karen Haney wrote the winning essay in the Kosciusko Board of Realtors essay contest. Karen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Haney, Milford. The winning essay was titled "The Strength Of A Nation Lies In The Homes Of Its People."
Sue Frederick and Diane Hepler are delegate and alternate, respectively, to Girls' State. They were selected by the Atwood American Legion Auxiliary. Sue is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Frederick, and Diane is the daughter of Wayne Hepler.
James Heaton Jr., of Winona Lake, a junior student at the School on Electrical Engineering at Purdue University, has been initiated into the Reamer Club, independent athletic booster club. Membership in this organization is based entirely on scholarship and interest in athletics.
