They are Heidi Sisson, Jenny Hartzler, Jackie Lee, Dana Webb and Linda Hubler, The program was established by an anonymous donor and enhanced by a bequest from the estate of Ruth Ladd of Warsaw. Officers of the Warsaw Community Development Corp. in the coming year will be Jim Manhart, regional manager for NIPSCO, president; Neal Carlson, president of First National Bank of Warsaw, vice president; Lee Heyde, local CPA and attorney, treasurer; Sharon Chase, WCDC administrator, secretary. 50 Years Ago Welcome Wagon Newcomers Club enjoyed a “Mad Hatters Party” in the Lake City Bank social room. Everyone wore a hat of their own creation made from plastic bowls, straw baskets, styrofoam ice buckets, household items and flowers. Mrs. Cletus Couture had the prettiest hat; Mrs. Donald Holt, the most clever idea. Coming in second were Mrs. Ray McCool and Mrs. Paul Waugh. Pupils at Lincoln School made 350 baskets filled with candy and gave them to patients in nursing homes throughout Kosciusko County and the Murphy Medical Center. Some of the Junior Red Cross Volunteers are Susan Henson, Keith Bower, Pamela Noble and Jeff Kindle. Mrs. Curtis Gable and Mrs. Lamoine Smith at Prairie View are recipients of the “treats.” 75 Years Ago Notice to autoists: Railway crossing electrical flasher warning signals are not dependable. More than once a Times reporter was narrowly missed being run down at the Scott Street Pennsylvania crossing. Another person reported the same situation at the Big Four crossing at Pope Street near Earl Conrad’s factory. The switchman admitted the flasher lights sometimes fail to operate. Company L, Warsaw’s National Guard unit, enlisted 15 new “boot camp boys.” Four Godfrey brothers from Captain Milo Snyder’s home town of Cromwell enlisted.
