10 Years Ago Candice Hine was the winner of the North Webster Community Center raffle for the Jeff Gordon Team Racing Jacket. Chief of Police Donald Snyder and Mayor Joe Johnson met with the district engineer for the Pennsylvania Railroad to discuss the possible widening of the heavily traveled Bronson Street crossing. Officials hope to widen the narrow crossing when the Bronson Street widening project begins early this summer. 75 Years Ago Century-old Palestine Mill, Road 25 at Palestine Lake, six miles southwest of Warsaw, has been rebuilt following a disastrous fire some time ago, and is bigger, better and ready to serve the community’s needs, according to owner Ed Shirey. New, modern Blue-Streak equipment was built by Prater Pulverizer Company of Chicago. Main feed lines will be Waseo, manufactured by the Lyon & Greenleaf Company at Ligonier, and mineralized feeds from the Murphy Company of Wisconsin. Grand opening will be celebrated March 30 to April 6. Sheriff Burton B. Foulke told the Times and Union that his office was attempting to check the credentials of two strangers, supposedly salesmen for a national business magazine, who were soliciting Warsaw businessmen yesterday.
