    The chase for 500 is back on. Bill Patrick has returned to coaching. Patrick, whose basketball teams have never had a losing season, was named Tippecanoe Valley's varsity boys basketball coach at the school board meeting. Patrick previously coached varsity basketball for 29 years in the Whitko school system, where his overall record was 478-180 (73 percent).

    Winning top seniors awards at Warsaw Community High School Adult Tiger Club banquet were Rod Hatfield (male Manager's Award); Karen Kolesiak (Boice Award and Tiger Club scholarship); Herb Bailey (Male Athlete of the Year, Minear Award and Tiger Club Scholarship); Mary Parke (Tucker Award); Doug Blue (Boice Award); Linda Shultz (Female Athlete of the Year); Gary Puckett (Fisher Award); and Alycee Kimes (female Manager's Award).

    Sharon Puls has been named valedictorian and Odis Thomas salutatorian of the Silver Lake senior class. Principal Harvey Carey also announced that the senior class will return from a trip to Colorado on May 17.

    ROCHESTER - Four pupils who have been riding the school bus of Carl Fisher during the last year have learned that for once in their lives they had not been "good for nothing." While making the last trip of the year with his 30 charges, Fisher asked them to select from their number those who had been most quiet and courteous. Fisher took ballots to his home and counted them. On the basis of election Fisher made the following rewards: Kenneth Jones, $5; Alta Cleland, $2; and Alan Imhof and Earl Moore, $1 each.
