    ROCHESTER - Lisa Adams was honored as Fulton County's Advocate of the Year in an awards program April 30 at the Comfort Inn in Rochester.

Adams is an educational assistant in the Good Beginnings Tippecanoe Valley Preschool at Akron Elementary. She also serves on the North Central Indiana Special Education Cooperative's Parent Advisory Council as a resource to parents of children with special needs.

    Awards were given at the Warsaw Community High School, honoring current senior male and female athletes. They are Todd Dickerson, male athlete of the year; Cindy Horn, female athlete of the year, female recipient of "Spirit of Victory" award, female scholarship winner and recipient of the Dale Tucker Award; Margaret McCleary, co-winner of the Ralph Boice Award; Todd Lozier, male recipient of "Spirit of Victory" award; Ken Fraughiger, male scholarship winner; Travis Walls, recipient of the George Fisher Award; and Steve Brenneman, co-winner of the Ralph Boice Award.

    A dark blue shantung dress, made by Mrs. D. Lamar Wolfe, 1216 E. Center St., won a local sewing contest and is now being judged in the Indianapolis regional.

    Charles Burgh, 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. George Burgh, of East Market Street, found a mushroom that measured 6 inches in length and had a circumference of 9 inches.
