This letter, “My Super Woman, Mom” was published May 8, 2002, as a Mother’s Day tribute.
“My mom, Susan Simpson, is truly the best mom. She is super because she is honest, loving, and hardworking. She works at Presby Preschool. Then she comes home after a hard day at work and cooks, cleans and checks my homework. My mom spends a lot of time with me by playing board games, shooting hoops with me and taking me to the movies. I have learned many valuable life lessons from my mom. Here are some of the most important: Love God, practice the Golden Rule, don’t smoke, use good language and be yourself. It’s obvious you can see she’s really super woman, Mom!” - Written by Keelan Simpson
