    POTPOURRI - Marital Harmony - Music wasn't the only highlight at the John Berry concert at Wagon Wheel Theatre. Ken Thompson worked it out with the band ahead of time so he could propose to his girlfriend, Heidi Glass, during the second show. An appropriate song for the moment would be Berry's "I Will If You Will," but Thompson said their sentimental choice is Berry's biggest hit, "Your Love Amazes Me."

    BOURBON - The Mentone Youth For Christ Basketball League All-Star team completed a two-game series sweep of the Bourbon League stars with a 111-98 win. Last week, the Mentone team took a 117-81 decision.

Leading double-figure scorers for the winners were Rick Shepherd with 16, Mark Sumpter with 15 and John Lash with 14. Jim Koontz of the Bourbon team lead all scorers with 27 points.

April 8 1958

    Kent Parks and Tom Groninger, of the Atwood Future Farmers of American Chapter, will receive Hoosier farmer awards at Purdue University in West Lafayette.

Others in the Atwood delegation to the Purdue conference are Paul Haney and Dan Cormany, who are singing with the state FFA chorus, Max Miller, Charles Rebman, Bob Creighton, Larry Worley and Maynard Johnston, who teaches agriculture and biology at the school.

    The Thursday afternoon bridge club met with Mrs. Albert Parker on South Buffalo Street. Mrs. Parker won high score and second score was won by Helen Smith. Mrs. Harry Clingenpeel substituted for Christine Widaman, who is out of town.
