The probable cause of the March 20 fire that destroyed Warsaw Plating Works is a malfunction in a furnace. Warsaw Fire Department Chief Matt Warren said fire officials toured the building with insurance investigators late last week and the fire is believed to have started in a 10-year-old furnace located in the center of the building. Several fire departments worked to extinguish the blaze at the business on Lincoln Street in Warsaw. The facility was not occupied at the time the fire began and no injuries were reported.
