    Sixteen-month-old Cody Shafer, son of Phillip and Sherri Shafer, Warsaw, won first place in his age division March 29 at the New Star Discovery Beautiful Baby Contest.
Shafer also won trophies in each of the following categories: photogenic head shot, photogenic body shot, photogenic product shot, photogenic snapshot, prettiest eyes, sweetest smile, angle face and personality plus.

    Baker Boys Club won three individual titles as well as the overall team crown in Indiana Boys Club Workers Association State Table Tennis Championship at Noblesville.
BBC members Shawn Lenfesty (age group 9-10), John Durso (13-14) and Leon Brenneman (15-16) each won their division championship. They were joined by Paul Dawson (11-12) and Chuck Kintzel (17-18) as members of the winning team.

    Larry Poland, Warsaw High School senior, was the only student in the state to capture top honors in three major speech events at the Howe Military Academy's Invitational tournament.
Larry's fine showing came in original oratory, extemporaneous and Congress. He brought home the first place trophy in two events after competing with 640 students from 26 schools.

    Gladys Moon and Wilma Cochern, of Warsaw, vocalists, and Marjorie Baker, pianist, of Atwood, will broadcast a half-hour musical program from the Culver station. The wave length is 1,400 kilocycles.
