In a show of American pride, the students and staff of Whitko Middle School, Larwill, wore red, white and blue to school recently, and during the last 20 minutes of the day, were organized in the shape of the American flag. A photo was taken from atop the school’s gym by Tony Phillips, who also organized the event. More than 400 students took part. The flag was approximately 60 feet by 40 feet. The students also recognized the sacrifices being made by members of the U.S. armed services, including one of their teachers, Doug Patrick, now SSgt. Patrick of the 384th Military Police.
