The students of Akron School have set a new record for labels collected as part of the Campbell's Labels for Education Program. In the drive, 21,300 labels were collected, shattering the 1987 total of 18,800. The labels will be used to receive free computer programs.
The Music Committee Quartet will present a gospel concert in the Center United Methodist Church at Silver Lake. The quartet consists of John Kirkpatrick, bass; Phil St. John, baritone; Gerald Miller, lead; and Loran Sims, tenor.
Brooke Doran, a member of the junior class at the Burket High School, is one of the four state winners in the Indiana Cancer Society's annual radio script-writing contest. His script will be produced by actors from the Indianapolis Civic Theater and will be broadcast over the radio.
