The RaDio team of Triton Jr.-Sr. High School placed first in their category at the Destination Imagination regional competition. Members are Tim Harvey, Logan Chapman, eighth grade; Barry Sponseller, Cole Eiser, Tom Eiser, sixth; Jennifer Strycker, eighth. Team managers are Lisa Eiser and Linda Kissinger. The Improving Along team of Triton placed second in their category. They are Dane Sahlhoff, Christie Beldon, Candace Gabhart, Abbie Price, Nick Harrell. Manager is Lorri Gabhart.
Mentone Boy Scout Troop 777 Scoutmaster Shawn Baker helped Justin Perry work on his Eagle Scout project. Perry built and installed three information boxes for Potawatami Wildlife Park in Tippecanoe.

Warsaw FFA officers for 1990-91: Jake Tusing, president; Dean Rhodus, vice president; Andy Hart, secretary; Chris Holsclaw, treasurer; Dan Decker, reporter; Chris Seibold, sentinal. In the district leadership contest, the FFA placed fourth overall among 17 schools.
The Viking Winter Guard of Tippecanoe Valley High School was named Class B state champ at the Indiana High School Color Guard Association state finals. It was the only color guard of any class in the state to finish the season undefeated, winning first place at five competitions.
Arthur Two Crows Yates, a Miami Indian, visited Washington Elementary School and shared his Native American culture through traditional songs, stories, dance and history.

Rolly Robison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Robison, has been named to represent Leesburg High School at Boys State to be held at Indiana University. Alternate is Larry Bishop, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bishop. Vicki Oswalt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Oswalt, has been named Girls State representative from Leesburg. Alternate is Joyce Marvel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Marvel.

Construction will begin immediately on a new, improved library building on the campus of Manchester College with completion scheduled for June 1, 1966. Contracts have been awarded to three Fort Wayne firms and one Indianapolis firm.

The host Pierceton Cubs are favored by many fans to win the Pierceton Sectional by reason of their impressive record of 22 victories against two losses during the season. The Red and White quintet will face a veteran Beaver Dam five in a first round game. The team: Cloyce Menzie, Bill Brower, Bud Ashley, Eddie Bowman, Dean Rager, Bill Bixler, Wayne Bennett, Roger Plew, Eugene Werstler, Francis Keener and Coach William Bryan.
Farmers around Eel River, southern part of Kosciusko County, are getting ready to open their maple sugar camps the first week of March.
