Whitko High School will present the musical “Oklahoma” May 6 and 7 in the auditorium, with  Korey Flinn as Curly and Katy Gensic as Laurey. For more than three weeks, students in Dawn Hinthorn’s musical theatre class worked on the set, building the Oklahoma landscape. Becky Hand is co-director with Hinthorn. Tammy Kumfer and Mary Lawman are co-directors on the choreography.
Class Act Junior Dance Troupe will be performing “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile” Sunday afternoon at the Lakeview Middle School. Dancing are Katie Marose, Erica Schori, Elizabeth Siesennop, Kristie Davis, Marissa Cox, Cassie Dishman, Hannah Crane, Jessica Smith, Desiree Lantz, Lauren Smith and Brianna Day.

The Warsaw Noon Kiwanis will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake and egg breakfast April 21 at Center Lake Pavilion, with proceeds going to Riley Children’s Hospital and Combined Community Services. Getting ready are John Conley, Archie Palmer, Herman Miller, Don Trease, Dan Walcott and Mark Workman.
Warsaw Community High School basketball player Jason Zimmerman signed a letter of intent to continue his career at Davidson (N.C.) University. He ended his Tiger playing days as the school’s eighth all-time leading scorer with 947 points (425 this season).
Warsaw girls track team got a 65-53 win over Goshen in a Northern Lakes Conference matchup. The Tigers were led by Kim Harrison who was a triple winner. Other winners: Cathy McGurn (discus); Andrea Slegal (3,200) and Nancy Alderfer (1,600).

Mary Margaret Wilbanks, Nancy Lemler, Susan Hodge and Carol Reece are preparing projects for the Friendship Festival Saturday at the Bourbon Methodist Church. They are celebrating National Camp Fire Girl Week.
Julia Watts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Watts, Warsaw, won the Madison Grade School spelling title in the fifth/sixth division. Her teacher is Charles Staton. Douglas Ryman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ryman, won the Atwood School fifth/sixth spelldown. His teacher is Gertrude Groesbeck. Regan Richardson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Richardson, won the Akron Grade School fifth/sixth spelling championship. Her teacher is LaDonna Rader. Karen McFadden, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. O.L. McFadden, won the Mentone School fifth/sixth spelling championship. Her teacher is William Longenbaugh.

Sidney’s tomato factory, closed down for the past three years, will be reopened this coming season from August 1 to October 1, according to owners F.H. Sweet & Co., of Chicago.
Dayton Paxton, Warsaw real estate dealer, reported that a large flock of wild geese passed over Pierceton enroute north Sunday afternoon.
The Times and Union staff congratulated John R. Boice in his successful efforts to bring “The Grapes of Wrath” to Warsaw and vicinity. The movie will have a five-day run at the Strand Theatre beginning Easter Sunday, March 24.
Clarence Gross, Purdue senior, is teaching agriculture for two weeks at Bourbon High School as part of his university teaching practice work.
