    Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Bradley Kelley, son of Ivan and Mary Knote of South Whitley, recently received the Navy Good Conduct Medal.

The Good Conduct Medal recognizes the servicemember's honest and faithful service during a three-year period. To earn it, Kelley achieved and maintained a satisfactory level of performance and an unblemished conduct record for the entire period.

    Receiving top awards at the Kosciusko Community YMCA winter swim team awards program were Ivy Reed, girls coaches award; Rod Mohler, special award for setting 100 yard breaststroke record or 13-14 year olds in the state YMCA meet, and Rory Callighan, boys coaches award.

    Marlys R. Heath of Our Town's Warsaw High School has been named a winner in the 23rd annual Time Current Affairs test at New York City. The test, given this year to more than 110,000 college and high school students in the U.S. and Canada, consists of 105 questions on national and foreign affairs.

April 30 1934

    Initiation services were held for five members of the Kappa Alpha Phi fraternity. Those initiated were: Elmer Kozak, Gordon Smith, Clarence Hartman, Paul Elliott and Frank Ohmart.
