    The United States Achievement Academy announced that Justin Ross, son of Jim and Tonya Ross of Warsaw, has been named a U.S. National Award Winner in history and government.

This award is a prestigious honor. The Academy recognizes fewer than 10 percent of all American high school students.

April 29 1984

    Kosciusko County's Southern Rain band completed recording sessions April 8 for a cassette tape and a 45 rpm single to be released later this month.

Lead vocalist Al Marshall and their public relations promoter Jack Hurt, both of Pierceton, met with studio producers on Feb. 23 in Elkhart, and arranged recording dates.

    The junior class of Claypool High School will present "Beauty And The Beef" at the school gym.

April 29 1934

    Recently, Mr. and Mrs. Donovan Johnston, newlyweds of near Claypool, were belled by a group of friends. The young couple were taken for a ride to Warsaw and Claypool, after which the crowd returned to their home at Carr Lake, where refreshments were served. Warsawans in the group were Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Johnston and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Johnston and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hawley and family.
