    Alexis Bradford, 8, of Silver Lake, will attend the International Talent and Modeling Convention July 13-20 in New York City, N.Y.

A second-grader at Akron Elementary School, Bradford is the daughter of Jamie and Angie Bradford, Silver Lake.

April 28 1982

    Air Force Senior Airman Bruce W. Tutorow, son of Ronald D. and Jacquelyn S. Tutorow, Silver Lake, has participated in exercise Team Spirit, a joint and combined U.S. and Republic of Korea military exercise to train commanders, staffs and forces in the execution of joint and combination ground, air and sea operations.

Tutorow is an aircraft inspector at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan, with the 18th Component Repair Squadron.

April 28 1957

    East Wayne third-grader Marvin Summers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Summers, Warsaw, received first place award in the Shrine Circus essay contest. More than 1,000 Kosciusko County and area third-grade pupils attended the Shrine Circus in Fort Wayne last February as guests of the Kosciusko County Shrine Club. They then wrote essays on what they like best about the circus.

April 28 1932

    About 20 neighbors of Walter Scott, who has been quite ill the past several months, came to his farm and plowed, harrowed and sowed 20 acres of oats for him. Those present were: Edson Lynn, Clever Munson, Harry Munson, Howard Goshorn, Sherman Fike, Ray Carlin, M.O. Grisso, Lloyd Sheely, Levi Secrist, Ham Boggs, Ed Polk, Harvey McCleary, Ed Hoagland, Myron McConnell, John Hanson, Presh McFerren, Clinton Whitney, Clet Tibbits, Sherman Fisher and Walter Scott's son, Joseph.
