Travis Adams, son of Craig and Tiffany Adams, Akron, was named Akron Elementary School’s winner of the DAR American History Essay Contest for Kosciusko County fifth-grade students. This year’s topic was “Along the Trail With Lewis and Clark.”
Sidney High School Alumni reunion will be June 4 at the Shrine Building, Kosciusko County Fairgrounds.
Matthew Reinholt, 12, son of Scott and Lisa Reinholt, Warsaw, served as a page for Indiana Sen. Thomas Weatherwax March 29. Matthew is a sixth-grader at Harrison Elementary School.

Ivan Oberlin and Sue Creighton have been named to new positions for the combined company of United Telephone of Indiana and United Telephone of Ohio. Oberlin becomes vice president of finance; Creighton, director of access services. Both will relocate to the Mansfield, Ohio area.
Stonehenge Golf Club announced that Philip F. Fozo will be the new general manager. He has spent the last five years as manager at Miami Valley Golf Club in Dayton, Ohio.
Zella Betz won a $200 savings bond from Rabb Water Systems at the Kosciusko County Home and Sport Show.
Marsha Martin, manager of the Party Shop, and Norm Snyder, co-owner, presented Thelma Mulcahy the Easter open house basket.

Jack Essenburg, advertising director of The Times-Union and Radio Stations WRSW AM-FM, has been named chairman of the Retail Merchants Division of the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce for the remainder of 1965, filling the vacancy created by the transfer of Jim Durham, former chairman, to Terre Haute. Durham, assistant manager of Sears, Roebuck & Co., Warsaw, will be assistant manager in the larger Sears chain.
Oral polio vaccine feeding stations will be set up in these school gymnasiums April 4 and June 6: Warsaw, North Webster, Mentone, Syracuse, Pierceton and Etna Green; and at the Lions Club building in Silver Lake.

Bud Oakley, Winona Lake sign painter, brought into The Times’ office a book of minutes of the old Warsaw Cornet Band formed in January 1884 and led by Prof. John Lathrope, showing expenses, receipts, personnel, by-laws and trips the band made.A clipping from October 28, 1886, tells of a presentation of a gold medal to him for untiring efforts in making the organization one of the best in the state.
