    Wayne Harshberger won the best of show award from the Lakeland Art Association Spring Exhibit. He won for his sculpture of New Mexico alabaster, titled "The Varmit." First-place awards also were presented to Steve Creighton, oil; Pat Thompson, acrylic; Mary Ann Halsey, watercolor; Jenny Penn Wu, drawing; Catherine Russell, mixed media; Laura Hale, photography; Larry Overmeyer, sculpture; and Chris Johnson, ceramics.

April 24 1983

    Three Warsaw wrestlers captured first place in the Indiana State Wrestling Association sectional meet at Elkhart Memorial High School.

Advancing to the state meet on May 11 at Indianapolis Tech High School by winning sectional titles were Billy Ford, Kelly Frank and Eric Mohler.

    Eugene Lange, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm Lange, of Milford, has been selected by the Milford American Legion Post to attend Boys State June 14-21.

Robert O'Blenis has been selected as alternate delegate. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert O'Blenis.

April 24 1933

    As in former years, to Noble Shaffer, a resident of Tippecanoe, but well known in the city of Warsaw, go the honors for finding the first mushrooms of the season. He appeared here with a catch of 4-1/2 gallons of the delicacies. Due to the fact that this was his entire supply, the mushroom baron was forced to limit his sales.
