    Four students from Whitko High School will join more than 4,000 conference delegates at the Business Professionals of America 1997 National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla.
Ben Fingerle, Trista Helvey, Nikki Secor and Joanna Shankster will represent the Whitko BPA chapter.

April 23 1982

    Milford Area Development president Karl Keiper made the announcement that 100 people seated in the Apostolic Fellowship Hall had come to hear.
"The Milford Citizen of the year is ... Priscilla Myers and Ralph Neff, Co-Citizens of the Year." It was only the second time there had been a dual award since 1971.

April 23 1957

    A new dime store and drug store will be added to the Lowery Shopping Center area in Warsaw.
H.B. "Doc" Lowery, of Claypool, owner of the shopping area on East Market Street, said Thornburg Drug Co., which has stores in Syracuse and North Webster, will erect a Walgreen agency drug store just west of the Marsh Foodliner store, and Harvey's Dime Store firm, of Valparaiso, will build a store just west of Thornburg's. The three stores will be connected with an outside canopy.

    The graduating class of the East Wayne School this year consists of the following pupils: Neva Gross, LeNora Collins, Gene Sims, Mary McKinney, Maxine Funk, Gwendolyn Harshner, Emabelle Elder, Winifred Hope, Roberta Hope, Esther Hite, Gene Bailey, Arden Shira, Wilbur Miller, Russell Wolfe, Harold Wind, Betty Hilliard, Paul Millington and Vannas Heeter.
According to the grades of the class, Neva Gross, of East Wayne township, holds the distinction of receiving first honors and LeNora Collins, of Winona Lake, second. Collins has an exceptional attendance record. She has not missed a day of school for eight years on her own accord.
