    BUNKER HILL - Pierceton teen-ager Willy Long won his age division at the drag race at Bunker Hill Dragstrip.

Long finished first in the junior dragster division with an E.T. of 9.934 at 64.19 mph. The race is 1/8-mile long.

April 23 1983

    POTPOURRI - Class President - Three Kosciusko County youths were recently elected class leaders at Ball State University in Muncie. Kyle Babcock, the son of Sheila Hodges and the stepson of Mayor Paul E. "Mike" Hodges, was elected president of the BSU Student Association in student elections recently. Dan Hampton, the son of Ken and Bonnie Hampton, Warsaw, was elected vice-president, and Kelley Simpson, the daughter of Jack and Rita Price Simpson, Mentone, was elected secretary.

April 23 1958

    Ted Beer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Beer, of Milford, received an Eagle Scout award at a recent meeting of the Milford troop.

Ted's brother, Robert, received a life award at the same meeting.

75 Years Ago

April 23 1933

    Flags are flying at Syracuse today (19th) and stores are decorated, as 60 years ago today April 19, 1873, the first Baltimore & Ohio railroad train passed through that place.

According to a few persons now alive who remember the incident, it was a work train. James P. Dolan, a pioneer, remembers the incident as does Aaron A. Rasor, of Warsaw, who as a boy resided at Syracuse at that time.
