    Army Spec. Kenneth Martin Jr. has been decorated with the Army Achievement Medal.

The son of Betty Bradshaw, Warsaw, and a 1994 Warsaw Community High School graduate, he received the medal for meritorious service, acts of courage and other outstanding accomplishments.

April 20 1982

    Although it took a while for the matter to be reported, there was no joking about Archie Caudill's April Fool's Day accomplishment. The Silver Lake golfer scored his first-ever hole-in-one at the Iron Wood Course near Warsaw.

Caudill aced the 205-yard, second hole with a No. 3 wood. The shot was witnessed by two others.

    Members of the Warsaw and Winona Lake fire departments recently attended a school at Baer Field, Fort Wayne, on the extinguishing of jet aircraft fires and aiding the pilot to get from the craft.

Members of the Warsaw Fire Dept. attending were Chief Norman Banghart, Junior Pfeiffer, Bill Walgamuth, Charles Sanders and John Ladd. Members of the Winona Lake Dept. attending were Chief Bruce Howe, Don Gatke, Jim Heaton, Hank and Leo Henderson and Richard Pfeiffer.

April 20 1932

    Elizabeth Perry has been elected "honor" girl for the year 1931-32 by the Girls' Athletic Association of Warsaw High School. Each year one girl is chosen for this high honor from the few senior class girls, who have achieved four years of athletic supremacy meriting the awards of seaters. The "honor" girl is privileged to wear the pearl gray stripes on the sleeve of her sweater and is further honored by having her name engraved on the shield in the high school.
