    Betty Lynch, Claypool, has a new coffee maker, thanks to a recent promotion from a Fort Wayne radio station. Lynch had 11 minutes to call the station after her name was announced, and she made it with five minutes to spare.

    Entries are already being submitted for North Webster's annual Mermaid Festival June 24-29.

Marge Payne, festival secretary, said that Jo Ann Tucker, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Tucker, of near Beaver Dam, is the first to enter the "Queen of Lakes" beauty contest. She is entered as "Miss Beaver Dam," having been chosen by vote of the Beaver Dam High School students.

    Mr. and Mrs. Elmer B. Funk, John Boyle and Edna Nye, of this city, spent last evening in Leesburg, where they furnished music for the Leesburg High School baccalaureate exercises, held in the Methodist church.
