    After 42 years in the feed business, Donald L. Guy, Etna Green, is retiring. Guy has worked at Etna Elevator Inc., Etna green, for 42 years, delivering feed in the bulk truck and mixing feed for local farmers.

    Mrs. R.C. Tytler, Syracuse, president of the Syracuse-Wawasee Garden Club and state recording secretary, will attend the 51st annual convention of the Garden Club of Indiana April 19-20 in Muncie.

    Norm Miller, of Milford, was elected vice president of the Indiana Future Farmers of America at the end of a three-day convention at Purdue University, West Lafayette.


75 Years Ago

April 17 1932

    This week Guy S. Means, president and treasurer of the G.S. Means Co., sold a used Pontiac automobile to Harvey Hafner, South Whitley antique dealer. The price of the car was $270.

Hafner paid the entire price in pennies, which he had been saving over a long period of time. A large bag between 2 and 3 feet in height was required to hold them and three houses were required to count them. There were 27,000 pennies.
