    In recognition of outstanding scholastic achievements, Charles Robinson, of Winona Lake, was recently accepted into the Freshmen Honors Scholars program at Millikin University, Decatur, Ill., and was offered a significant scholarship.
      Christopher W. Wiggins has been nominated by Stephen E. Sain, registrar at Gardner-Webb University, for the National Dean’s List. Only one-half of 1 percent of the nation’s college students receive this award. Wiggins was inducted earlier this year into the Alpha Chi National Honor Society. His parents are Ernie and Deb Wiggins, Warsaw.

    Three developers interested in the old freshman high school property five months ago may be the only three to bid in the project when the school auctions the property this summer. A date for the auction is now expected by the end of July, according to attorney David Day, who outlined the specifications for the auction process. School officials called the pre-bid hearing in another attempt to make the auction process as public and open as possible.

    Leesburg High School juniors have selected Charles “Ed” Lyons as their delegate to Boys’ State, and Susan Kay Shively as their Girls’ State delegate this summer. Their parents are Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Lyons and Mr. and Mrs. Don Shively. The Boys’ State alternate is Robert Paton, and the Girls’ State alternate is Nancy Birtwhistle.

    Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ringle returned to their home in Winona Lake recently after spending the winter traveling about in their trailer  through Florida.
     Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Dalton and family recently left for Beaumont, Texas, where they will spend several weeks.
