Yesterday afternoon’s thunderstorm created hazardous road conditions. Nearly an inch of rain reportedly fell on the county with heavy rains forcing motorists off the road to wait for a break in the rain. In Warsaw, several traffic signals were temporarily knocked out during the heaviest rain between 4 to 6 p.m. Several traffic signals had to be manned by police officers until the system could be repaired. Lightning not only played havoc with traffic signals, Warsaw firemen were called to a house fire on CR 400E and CR 100N at the home of Dave McGuire. No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
