Artwork by fourth-graders Kayla Smith, Silver Lake Elementary School and Stephen Straits, Eisenhower Elementary School, is now on display in the office of Congressman Steve Buyer in Washington, D.C. Fourth-graders throughout the Fifth Congressional District were asked to participate in Boyer’s art project to display Hoosier history in Washington. “Hoosier fourth-graders learn about the state government of Indiana,” Buyer said. “This project coincides with their studies, allowing them to create a drawing that best depicts the state of Indiana, and to display it in our nation’s capital.”

Richard Kline, principal at Warsaw Comunity High School, has been selected to participate in the Indiana Principal Leadership Academy, under the auspices of the State Department of Education. On April 21, 50 principals from across the state will be attending their first class at the academy. They will join the 150 other principals who are already involved in the Academy training program.

Mrs. Herbert McCleary, county home demonstration agent, will spend next week with her son and daughter-in-law, Major and Mrs. J.E. McCleary, and grandchildren, Patricia, James and Brian, who live in Springfield, Va., 16 miles from Washington, D.C. Major McCleary is with the Army Research and Development Department at the Pentegon.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Banning returned from Miami, Fla., where they spent the winter. For the past week they have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Holderman of near Warsaw. Mr and Mrs. Banning left for Goshen Monday where they will make their home.
Homer Rodeheaver left for New York City after visiting at Winona Lake with Mr. and Mrs. Herb Dye. Mr. and Mrs. Dye and Mr. Rodeheaver also spent time in Fort Wayne.
