April 14 1999

    Scott Moore, son of Terry and Emily Moore, Warsaw, recently received his Eagle Scout Award.

Boy Scout Troop 730 presented his Eagle Award in a ceremony at Walnut Creek United Methodist Church. More was required to earn 21 merit badges and to plan and lead a community service project. His Eagle service project improved the cross country trails at Edgewood Middle School.

25 Years Ago

April 14 1984

    Several Kosciusko County residents participated in the campaign to adopt wild burros roaming a naval reserve in California two years ago. Since then, the burro population has increased, with many giving birth. The most recent birth occurred on St. Patrick's Day on the Jim and Jean Northenor farm in Harrison Township. The baby burro was appropriately named "Paddy." His mother's name is "Jenny."


50 Years Ago

April 14 1959

    Mary Beth Gaskill, 9, of North Webster, and Faith Goshert, 5, Route 1, Mentone, were named "Open" and "Tots" division champions, respectively, of the annual Bugs Bunny Easter Coloring Contest conducted by The Times-Union.


75 Years Ago

April 14 1934

    The Ladies' Aid met with Edith Huff recently with a very good attendance. Election of new officers for the coming years took place: President, Grace Polk; secretary, Ruby Boggs; treasurer, Mary Huff. One new member was added, it being Mrs Worth Hossler.
