Mrs. E.M. Sherbondy, residing at Yellow Creek Lake, is in receipt of a communication in which was enclosed a ring belonging to her son, Otto Madary, who was killed near Hume, Belgium, Nov. 5, 1918.

Madary, struck by shrapnel, died within 10 minutes, and his body was burned near the Escante River. Following the close of the war, his body was moved to the American military cemetery in Belgium. Recently, when an excavation was being made, the ring, bearing the initials "O.M." was found and it was connected with Madary, and was forwarded to Washington and then to Madary's mother.
