Thomas Conant of Warsaw picked up a hole-in-one on April 4 at the west course of Swan Lake golf course in Plymouth. Witnesses were Nate Conley, Don Perney and Darren Dishman.
John Hintz, marketing representative for Phillips Petroleum, presented Forrest and Marjorie Tinkey of Tinkey Oil Co., 715 W. Market St., with an honor for 25 years of service. Both of the Tinkeys received a plaque and a watch.

Fifty or more tiny wild baby ducks, both mallard and coot, hatched within the past few days, appearing skinny and lacking in sufficient feathers to keep them warm in the chilly Winona Lake waters, are inhabiting the shore line of Winona Lake. The ducklings stay near shore and keep together near the bathing beach in front of the Winona Hotel. The ducklings take little notice of the passing autos or pedestrians.
