   Marie Steele, formerly of Kosciusko County, received the Woman of the Year award presented Feb. 23 at the Stars of Lake County Community Awards in Kelseyville, Calif. The award was presented to her for her success in various community fund-raising activities. Steele is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Beery, Claypool.

     The fourth annual Warsaw Middle School Science Fair was held recently, and of all the imaginative and informative projects, the overall winner was Rob Paton’s project, “Altering The Growth Pattern of Plezoic Crystals.” The Biological Science winner was Laurie Bailey’s Project, “Does Age And Personal Experience Effect Our Interpretation of Optical Illusions?” Jason Sandy was the Physical Science division winner with his project, “What Things Reflect The Most Light?”

   This recipe for Tuna Casserole is from the Woman’s Exchange column.
    Ingredients needed fo this casserole are 1 large bag of potato chips (crushed slightly), 2 cans white Tuna fish, 2 cans mushroom soup and 1 can mushrooms and juice. Arrange in a baking dish, first: potato chips, second: Tuna fish, third: soup, fourth: potato chips, fifth:  Tuna fish, sixth: soup. Bake until heated through. Top with potato chips.
   This recipe for Corn Pudding is from Mrs. Willbur Klopenstein, Leesburg. Mix together 2 cups corn, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 tablespoons butter, 3 eggs and 1 cup scalded milk. Place in baking dish and bake in a 325 degree oven 40 minutes.

    Tom Moon Safe in (California) Flood Region - Everette Shoemaker of Warsaw on Monday evening picked up a short wave radio message for Mrs. Charles Moon from her son Tom Moon of Hollywood, Cal., saying “We are all right, will write a letter later.” This message was relayed through four amateur broadcasting stations and was picked up by Mr. Shoemaker on short wave length from station WOWO in Fort Wayne.
