  Another organization, the Kosciusko Community YMCA, just became part of the North Webster Community Center. The lease agreement was signed by NWCC board members and YMCA board members recently. The Y joins Lakeland Youth Center, the North Webster/Tippecanoe Township Library and Senior adults members as occupants when the facility is opened to the public in the fall.

    Over 900 athletes and their families will converge on Warsaw as they prepare to start the Indiana Short Course-Age Group Junior Olympic Championships at the Warsaw Freshman High School. There will be  approximately 900 participants representing close to 100 teams throughout the state. The youngest swimmer entered in the event is eight years old and none are over 14. All swimmers had to have achieved the qualifying time standards in order to participate in this meet.

   Mr. and Mrs. Alton Boggs, of Warsaw, were in Muncie this past weekend to attend a concert by the Ball State Teachers College Varsity Concert Band. Their son, Linden, who is a junior in music, is a member of the band. Linden is also a member of the orchestra currently playing for the music department production of Leonard Bernstein’s opera, “Wonderful Town.”

     Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Lafler went to Chicago recently where their daughter, Josephine, who is a student at Battle Creek College, Battle Creek, Mich., played with the team from her school in a basketball play-day tournament at the University of Chicago. Other teams competing at the event were Northwestern, Iowa, Mundelein of Chicago, Wisconsin, Purdue and Chicago University.
