    INDIANAPOLIS - Jim Folk, a teacher at Warsaw Community High School, was presented the 1998 Distinguished Service Award at the State Leadership Conference for Business Professionals of America. He is the ninth person to receive this award.

March 31 1983

    Winning the Warsaw women's bowling tourney doubles handicap title were Dory Wright and Dottie Baker with a 1,223. Judy Metzger and Nelta Hampshire won the actual doubles with a 1,035.

The team handicap winner in the Warsaw women's bowling tourney was Sasco. Team members are Elenor Goble, Carmen Curtis, Josie Calhoun, Jane Grubbs and Donna Mayer. Their winning score was 2,988.

    Ronald Malott, principal of the Beaver Dam School, announced that 12 students were on the fourth-period honor roll.

Phyllis Ummel was the lonely student receiving all A's. Students with A and B averages were Tom Adams, David Haney, Frederick Horn, Janet Welty, Margaret Baugher, Marilyn Horn, Carol Welty, Dora Kelley, Pat Engle, Eleanor Shively and Joyce Hathaway.

    ROCHESTER - Some woman with a troubled conscience mailed to Mrs. C.M. Andrews, who lives northwest of here, two crumpled dollar bills.

Accompanying the currency was the unsigned message: "As a small girl, I took two rings from your store. I don't know what they were worth, but I hope that this will cover the loss."
