    Navy Lt. Gary Fouts recently was promoted to his present rank while serving with Commander in Chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Norfolk, Va.

He was promoted based on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in his designated specialty.

    Recently, several members of the Tippecanoe Valley High School Future Farmers of America Club drove their tractors to school and paraded through the high school parking lot in observance of American Agriculture Week. Attending were: Dan Boyer, Craig Adams, Troy Butt, Rick Lowery, Mike Heirn, Cary Groninger, Rod Walters, Chan Tucker, Gary Scott, Bryan Severns, Erick Roser, Tony Feldman, Mark Shafer, Mark Floors and N. Richards

March 28 1959

    The North Webster Junior High School basketball squad won the Kosciusko County junior high tournament earlier this week. They defeated Pierceton 33-31 in a double-overtime championship game after also winning two previous tournament tilts by two points. Squad members are Jim Royer, Jim Rock, Larry Shock, Rickey Baker, Jerry Cullett, Andy Nobblitte, Lindell Dale, Jack Rhoades and John Plew. They are coached by Paul Royer and their manager is Rod Trestrail.

    Fred Nagler and Phillip Nice, who have been playing with the Bob Martin orchestra at Springfield, Ohio, spent Tuesday in Warsaw visiting friends and relatives.
