First- and second-place winners are: Tiger Cubs - Brian Beery, first, and Justin Brumfield, second; Wolves - Jonathan Snyder, first, and Eric King, second; Bears - James Walton, first, and Toby Lamp, second; and Webelos - Mike Shafer, first, and Jon Mcdowell, second.

Phyllis Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Cook, Bourbon, and a junior at Purdue, has been awarded a trip to the National 4-H conference in Washington, D.C., June 13-19, highest honor for 4-H achievements. She's one of four Hoosiers selected on the basis of 4-H records and personal interviews.
Mushrooms, a few French variety of the spongy growth, are being produced here for the Chicago market by Con Creery. Creery has a garden of some 600 square feet located behind the old Polk livery barn on South Lake Street, where he expects to be ready to market the fungi soon. Mushrooms of this variety bring 60 cents per pound in the Chicago market.
