    Leesburg's Calvin Clutter, a Warsaw Community High School graduate, is a junior pitcher for Wheaton College.

In a 17-1 win over Emerson on March 13, Clutter retired all six batters he faced and drove in a run in the seventh inning with his first collegiate hit. Wheaton is 6-2 on the year.

March 27 1983

    POTPOURRI - Bound For Boston - Fred Ross, sales manager at Wholesale Electric, Warsaw, and County Attorney Rex L. Reed will be running in the Boston Marathon on April 18. Ross was the Warsaw representative in the National Sports Festival, carrying the Olympic torch through southwestern Indiana. He qualified for the Boston Marathon by running the marathon in Detroit in three hours and seven minutes. Reed is a veteran to the Detroit and Boston marathons.

    Leesburg Principal Edward Trexler listed five students on the honor roll for the fourth grading period.

Those listed were Norman Henderson, Sharon Johnson, Eileen Vandermark, Ann Conley and Carolyn Stevens.

March 27 1933

    S.F. DePoy was elected by the First Methodist Church of Warsaw as delegate to the annual North Indiana Methodist Episcopal conference, which will be held at Huntington, beginning April 4. This the first time in history of the church where lay delegates are admitted to the conference along with the ministers.
