    INDIANAPOLIS - Wawasee graduate Ryan Harper has fared well as a member of the University of Indianapolis swim team, which ended the season ranked fourth in the NCAA Division II poll.

Harper has set two school records, in the 100 backstroke (52.86 seconds) and 200 backstroke (1:55.74). As a member of the school's 200 medley relay team, he swam the butterfly stroke and set a school record with a time of 1:35.3.

    April O'Connell, 11, daughter of Lana O'Connell, Warsaw, has been selected as a finalist in the 1984 Miss Indiana National Pre-Teen Pageant to be held at the Indianapolis Hilton At the Circle, Indianapolis, in July.

    Gilbert Bertsch, of Warsaw, president of the Kosciusko County Shrine Club, presents cash prizes to the three winners of the annual Shrine Circus essay contest. First-place winner is Mary Gaskill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gaskill, North Webster; second-place winner, Beth Rasor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Rasor, Warsaw; and third-place winner Sharon Lessig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lessig, Warsaw. Mary received $10, Beth $7.50 and Sharon $5.

    Phyllis Russell, student at North Manchester College, will arrive Wednesday in Warsaw to spend Easter vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Russell of South Indiana Street.
