POTPOURRI - Maurie McDaniel got more than he bargained for during a celebration of his 80th birthday recently at the Community Center in Atwood. Phil DeGaetano, better known for barking orders at his diner in Warsaw (Dig's Diner), planted a wet one on McDaniel.
On March 2, Claypool Elementary students in fifth and sixth grade participated in the Indiana Mathematics League Contest.
Spring walked into the newsroom with Mrs. Thurlow Hoppus the other day. Hoppy brought a lavish armful of pussy willows, fat silvery catkins on long graceful branches that reach from filing cabinet to ceiling. This tonic for winter doldrums is thoroughly appreciated by the newspaper and radio staff members alike.
PACKERTON - The Ladies Aid met with Mrs. Luke Vance. They quilted and picked wool. There were 14 members and seven visitors present. A pot-luck dinner was served at the noon hour. The next meeting will be with Sarah McFarren.
